This year, I managed to create a Christmas greeting for my closest friends. This has been on my to do list many years, but I never found time to get it done. "Lämpöistä Joulua" Text pressed in the snow means "Warm or Cozy Christmas."
I wanted to create a calm and warm illustration with a tightly defined color palette and the possibility give it life with a simple animation.
Another version of the illustration is a bit more traditional and perhaps more Christmassy. I like combining hand-drawn lines with clean vector art, and the color palette is also more complete with the addition of dark green to bring contrast.
Color Palette
I love the warm shades of light pink in Christmas illustrations. They exude peace and the feeling of curling up at home, inseparable from Christmas and this season. The darkness outside makes me crave softness and light. Gradients give the art a sense of perspective.
