Work life is in flux. I'm not content with the direction it's heading. Is it possible that we're living in a technologically advanced world, surrounded by unprecedented wealth, sustenance, knowledge, and innovation, yet we're feeling unwell? Ever since I entered the workforce over ten years ago, there has always been a shortage of staff. And my contribution isn't enough. I am not sufficient.
I want to be enough. I'm just a human, and I'm a fortunate one. Because I live in a time of peace, in a peaceful and prosperous country. Snow falls from the sky in winter for me, it melts in the summer for me, and to my delight, flowers bloom. For me, those same flowers shed their petals in the fall, and I burn myself out at work. I have work. There's a reason to be grateful for that too.
I want to tell others that there's more to life than this fragmented work life we were all warned about as children. That's why I made these posters. I want to express what I feel, and I want to spread empathy and acceptance. To all of us diligent ones.

This art series is a byprofuct of a project that started in January 2023. The project itself is called "luottaaitteessa" and it is a scetchbook project. Our monthly theme was a word "sickleave" and I believe this is the single most important piece of art I have created this year.
